Data We Collect

• Account information— your email address, used for authentication and communication.
• Patent claims and analysis inputs— the text you submit for patentability analysis.
• Usage analytics— anonymous interaction data (pages visited, features used) to improve the service.

How We Use Your Data

We use your data to provide and improve the Patentopia service. Patent claims are processed by our AI models to generate analysis results. We may use anonymized, aggregated data to improve our AI models. You can opt out of model improvement by contacting us.

Data Retention

For anonymous and free-tier users, analysis data is automatically deleted 24 hours after submission. For paid users, analysis data is retained while the account remains active, subject to the applicable retention settings, to enable access to past results. Account data is retained until you delete your account.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Patentopia:

• Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
• Anthropic — AI-powered patent analysis.
• Stripe — payment processing.
• Resend — transactional email delivery.

These providers process data only as necessary to deliver their services and are bound by their own privacy policies.

Security & Data Processing

All data is encrypted at rest (Supabase / PostgreSQL) and in transit (TLS). Access is controlled through row-level security (RLS) policies and session-scoped tokens, so each user can reach only their own records. Privileged actions on an assessment — approvals and amendments — are written to an append-only audit log.

Anonymous case data submitted without an account is automatically deleted after 24 hours. For a full description of how we process personal data on behalf of our customers, see our Data Processing Agreement (GDPR Art. 28).
